Why not just ask a chatbot to fix my Tamil?
You can paste Tamil into a general chatbot, and many writers do. Thiruttham is built for a different job: checking your text where you are already writing it, one small correction at a time, with you in control. This page lists what it does and does not do.
What Thiruttham does
- It works inside the text box you are already using (Gmail, WordPress, Blogger and other web text boxes) or in its web editor, so you do not copy text to another window and back.
- It proposes single edits. Nothing changes until you accept it, and you can undo an accepted change straight away.
- Every correction shows its reason in Tamil, from a fixed rule reference, so the explanation is the same each time.
- Words on your protected list, such as names, are never changed.
- Its fixed rules run in your browser and work offline. They send nothing.
- Its AI checks send only the sentences you check, to a provider whose terms exclude training on them.
What Thiruttham does not do
- It does not rewrite your paragraph, translate, or draft new text.
- It does not change your text without your click.
- It does not promise to be right every time. See how it works for what each layer can and cannot do.
If you want a paragraph rewritten, translated or drafted, use a tool made for that. If you want your own Tamil checked, one suggestion at a time, this is what Thiruttham is for.
