Tanglish transliteration lexicon (Aksharantar, AI4Bharat)
Thiruttham's Tanglish transliteration lexicon is built from the Aksharantar dataset (AI4Bharat), filtered to Tamil and to entries that AI4Bharat mined from the IndicCorp corpus. AI4Bharat licenses the mined packaging of Aksharantar under CC0 and states that it does not own the text the data was extracted from; the licensing of the underlying IndicCorp release is under review. - Source: Aksharantar (AI4Bharat), Tamil, entries mined from the IndicCorp corpus
- License: CC0 for the Aksharantar packaging; the license of the underlying corpus is under review
Dakshina (Google Research)
The Dakshina dataset (Google Research) is used only for internal benchmark construction and evaluation of Thiruttham's Tanglish engine (packages/core/eval/). It is licensed CC BY-SA 4.0. No data derived from Dakshina is included in Thiruttham's shipped product as of this notice — if that changes in the future, the ShareAlike implications must be reviewed with counsel before shipping, per this project's own docs/superpowers/specs/2026-09-30-tanglish-candidate-engine-design.md §8/§14.
Material Symbols (Google)
The icons on thiruttham.com are Google's Material Symbols (Outlined style, weight 400), taken from the npm package @material-symbols/svg-400 and used under the Apache License 2.0 (https://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0). Only each icon's path data is embedded in the pages; the artwork is otherwise unchanged.
Language icon (Noto Sans Tamil)
The language switch icon on thiruttham.com is drawn from the outlines of two letters of Noto Sans Tamil (Copyright 2022 The Noto Project Authors, https://github.com/notofonts/tamil), used under the SIL Open Font License, Version 1.1 (https://openfontlicense.org). The outlines are taken at one weight, with overlapping contours removed and the Latin letter cut clear of the Tamil one; they are embedded as path data and the font is not distributed with the icon.
Fonts (Inter, Noto Sans Tamil)
The Thiruttham browser extension's popup and side panel bundle two typefaces, taken from the npm packages @fontsource-variable/inter and @fontsource-variable/noto-sans-tamil and used under the SIL Open Font License, Version 1.1 (https://openfontlicense.org). Inter: Copyright 2016 The Inter Project Authors (https://github.com/rsms/inter). Noto Sans Tamil: Copyright 2022 The Noto Project Authors (https://github.com/notofonts/tamil). Each font is subset to the Latin and Tamil characters by Fontsource (a subset of the original, with no other change); the full licence texts are shipped in the extension (licenses/OFL-Inter.txt and licenses/OFL-Noto-Sans-Tamil.txt). The fonts are not sold on their own.
